I noticed that I needed to make a new schedule and how to change up what my free time looks like, so I decided to come and use the Academic Coaching resources. They helped me create an efficient schedule to keep me on track with work and to give myself more time to study and more free time after class. I am very satisfied with their help, and I have noticed the big difference between how my first couple of weeks went and how much more work I can do. Mr. Clark helped make the whole experience easier and explained things in the way that anybody could understand. I would recommend these services to anybody who needs help with schedules and other school related things.

Junior | Morehouse College
I was brought to academic coaching my freshman year when I found myself on academic probation after my first semester at Morehouse. From the moment I had my first meeting with Dr. Mathis, I felt comfortable and hopeful that I would be able to climb out of the hole that I found myself in. Throughout my time in study halls or in meetings with Dr. Mathis I was able to build up my confidence and feel like I belonged at Morehouse. By the end of my time in the academic coaching program, I had come back from academic probation and was able to keep up with the rigor of Morehouse college because I had built my confidence up, no longer feeling a sense of imposter syndrome.
Kenneth Richardson
Senior | Morehouse College
The Frederick Douglass Success Center was an essential part of my Morehouse experience for all four years. As a tutor for both Computer Science and Spanish, it gave me the chance to give back to my peers while deepening my own understanding of the material.
Beyond tutoring, the Center became my go-to space to get work done, whether tackling coursework, internship applications, or leadership responsibilities. More importantly, it's where I built genuine connections with peers, the kind of relationships that turn into study groups and lasting friendships.
The Frederick Douglass Success Center embodies what makes Morehouse special: a community where excellence and service are inseparable. I'm deeply grateful for the role it played in my journey from underclassman to graduate.
