INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The Office of International Student Services is the primary resource office for international students. Our office assists students in making your transition to the United States, to the Morehouse community, and to the many resources/services available in meeting any special needs.
A special orientation session is held in the Fall for new international students that covers best practices, key resources, and the importance of maintaining a good SEVIS status rating. Employment verification, practical training opportunities, travel, taxes, and other key immigration issues are often topics for discussion.
As an international student, you are encouraged to visit the office to keep abreast of important college and immigration information and updates. You are also encouraged to participate in AUC International Students Organizations, including the African Students Association and the International Students Association. AUC schools provide a wide range of social activities in support of international students.
ENROLLMENT STATUS AND EMPLOYMENT
It is important to properly maintain your immigration status. Please be sure to check with the international student advisor with any questions on your status and before beginning employment or enrolling in less than twelve hours per semester.
WHAT TO EXPECT
For the latest information on the Student and Exchange Visitor Program, your F-1 immigration status, and SEVIS, visit the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement website.
