The Morehouse College Martin Luther King International Chapel is dedicated to empowering transformational, nonviolent ambassadors of peace working to reveal and create the “Beloved” world spirtitual, economic, and cultural community as a reflection of the social justice of Jesus Christ.
ABOUT THE CHAPEL
The world’s most prominent religious memorial to Morehouse alumnus Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the King Chapel is home base for spiritual servants, scholars, and thought leaders who are furthering the work of peace and justice in the tradition of Dr. King, Howard Thurman, Benjamin Elijah Mays, and others who have for decades used the Gospel to manifest Christ’s teachings in the contemporary world.
Through transformative, moral cosmopolitan programs, the chapel serves as a center for the perpetuation of the evolutionary values of cosmopolitan spiritual ethics, nonviolence, service, and harmony in everyday life. Inspired by the possibility of the Beloved World Economic Community as the ethical meaning of the Presence of God, the Chapel embraces those who seek to make King’s dream real as nonviolent creators of a sustainable world in which all people embody their spiritual magnificence by living with a commitment to unconditional love, responsibility, and justice.
