    Covid-19 Resource Center

    Morehouse College is closely monitoring the spread of COVID-19 and has established protocols, procedures, and requirements to address related risks in concert with other Atlanta University Center Consortium (AUCC) institutions — Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Spelman College.

    Covid Alert Levels

    Atlanta University Center Consortium institutions, including Morehouse, will adjust COVID-19 protocols based on risk conditions on campus, within the Atlanta University Center, in the local area, and the state of Georgia. The protocols will be categorized by colors based on the level of risk.

    • Code Level Green

      Code Level Green

      Prevalence of the virus is minimal, and AUCC can safely operate within the current recommended guidelines.

      • Courses: Classes are traditional with no reduction of face-to-face instruction.
      • Work on Campus: No restrictions to on-campus work.
      • Masking: Face coverings are not required indoors or outdoors.
      • Residential Restrictions:No restrictions with on-campus housing.
      • Dining Restrictions: No dining-hall restrictions.
      • On-Campus Resources: No restrictions to on-campus resources.
      • Campus Activities and Events: No restrictions to activities or events.
      • Testing: Walk-in testing available.
    • Code Level Yellow

      Code Level Yellow

      Limited number of cases. Restrictions or targeted interventions may be imposed.

      Prevalence of the virus is limited, and AUCC can safely operate within current recommended guidelines.

      • Courses: Classes are traditional with no reduction of face-to-face instruction.
      • Work on Campus: Flexible arrangements or work-from-home may be considered for some.
      • Masking: Face coverings are required indoors; coverings are optional outdoors.
      • Residential Restrictions: Light residential restrictions may be imposed.
      • Dining Restrictions: Light dining restrictions may be imposed.
      • On-Campus Resources: Light restrictions may be imposed.
      • Campus Activities and Events: Light restrictions may be imposed for indoor events.
      • Testing: Walk-in testing is available. Unvaccinated testing mandatory.
    • Code Level Orange

      Code Level Orange

      Moderate number of cases. Restrictions or targeted interventions may be imposed.

      Prevalence of the virus is moderate, with some impact on AUCC resources, but support services, testing, and contact tracing capacities allow operations to continue

      • Courses: Classes are traditional, hybrid, or online. Reduction of face-to-face instruction may be considered.
      • Work on Campus: Increased flexible arrangements or work-from-home may be considered.
      • Masking: Face coverings are required in all indoor spaces; outdoors may be considered if conditions warrant.
      • Residential Restrictions: Guests are limited to AUCC member institutions ONLY.
      • Dining Restrictions: Increased grab-and-go options; socially distanced dining hall.
      • On-Campus Resources: Restrictions may be imposed.
      • Campus Activities and Events: Limit the number and size of in-person activities and events.
      • Testing: Walk-in testing mandated for vaccinated and unvaccinated.
    • Code Level Red

      Code Level Red

      Cases have increased to a high level, including community spread. Broadly targeted interventions may be necessary. Only essential activities are permitted.

      The prevalence of the virus has increased to a high level, and operations must be limited.

      • Courses: Reduction of face-to-face instruction. Classes may be hybrid, or online. Return to campus may be delayed.
      • Work on Campus: Expansion of flexible arrangements and work-from-home.
      • Masking: Face coverings are required in all indoor and outdoor spaces.
      • Residential Restrictions: Limited movement of AUCC students. Guests will not be permitted in a residence hall.
      • Dining Restrictions: Limited dining services are grab-and-go.
      • On-Campus Resources: Significantly reduced access to on-campus resources.
      • Campus Activities and Events: Cancelled in-person campus activities and events.
      • Testing: Walk-in testing is mandated for the vaccinated and unvaccinated; frequency of testing may increase.
