Morehouse College will
resume normal operations on Tuesday, January 27, 2025.
RECENT UPDATES
Effective 3 PM - Monday, January 26th
The AUCC, including Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, Spelman College , and the AUC Woodruff Library, will resume normal operations on Tuesday, January 27, 2025. Those traveling to campus are asked to use caution.
Effective 4 PM - Sunday, January 25th
The AUC Inclement Weather Team is monitoring weather conditions. Due to the inclement weather and unsafe road conditions, the AUC Campuses of Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, Spelman College and the AUC Robert Woodruff Library will operate remotely Monday, January 26, 2026. All essential staff are expected to report to campus. Faculty, staff and students, please check with your institution for updates.
For instructional purposes, faculty may use their professional judgment to determine the best way to proceed in their classes. Faculty may elect to shift to remote instruction for the day or cancel class without penalty to students.
Faculty will communicate directly with enrolled students as soon as possible regarding course plans so expectations are clear and students can plan accordingly.
Effective 8PM - Friday, January 23rd
Due to inclement weather conditions and for the safety of our students, faculty, and staff, the AUCC Inclement Weather Team has elected to close the AUC Campuses on Saturday, January 24, and Sunday, January 25th, 2026. This includes all campus activities and sporting events, including the Pilgrimage to Augusta and this weekend's home basketball game against Spring Hill. The game has been rescheduled to Monday, January 26, 2026 at 7 PM at Forbes Arena.
Please continue to check your Institution’s website and homepage for future updates.

Residential Students
Be advised of the following while we navigate the storm conditions on campus:
- Prepare a "Go" Bag: In the case of an emergency evacuation, pack an easy-to-carry bag with the following suggested items - blanket, pillow, medications, water, flashlights and batteries, personal hygiene & sanitation products, plug-in and portable chargers, snack, and non-perishable food items. In the case of a power outage, use non-flammable forms of lighting to prevent a potential safety hazard.
- Protect & Secure your room and belongings: Place all items inside drawers or closets, including tabletop items such as papers, books, etc. In case of flooding, remove items from the floor, including shoes, rugs, suitcases, bags, etc. Unplug ALL electronics and remove them from the floor.
- Shelter in place until otherwise advised to evacuate. Emergency management team members and campus safety officials are in consistent communication with Georgia and City of Atlanta personnel to ensure your well-being and safety. They will communicate with you if there is a need to vacate to another location. Otherwise, please stay indoors throughout the storm and do not open exterior-facing doors or windows.
- Residential students evacuating off-campus should inform their Resident Advisor or Community Director of their end destination.
- At the peak of the storm, close and cover all doors and windows and shelter in the hallways for maximum protection, unless otherwise advised by an authority of the College.
- Report damage to any building to Campus Operations by calling 470-639-0475 or 678-469-9043. You may also refer the issue to your Resident Advisor or Community Director.
Off-campus Students, Faculty, & Staff
Your safety is our top priority, too. Please adhere to the recommended safety protocols from your living community, apartment complex, or regional authorities. Stay informed by keeping an eye on local news for updates on weather and conditions in your area. If you can, avoid driving as high wind gusts, heavy rain, and potential flash flooding can make roads treacherous. Always follow the advice and instructions from local emergency services to stay safe.
Again, as you brace yourselves for the storm, we encourage you to base your actions on reliable news sources and authorities listed above. Campus updates will be available at morehouse.edu and will be sent via AlertAware.
