FAFSA Partner Portal

The FAFSA Partner Portal is a federal system that allows authorized college financial aid administrators to access FAFSA information associated with their institution.

For 2027–28, the portal has been updated to make it easier for financial aid administrators to access different FAFSA processing years and manage FAFSA transactions.

For students and parents: You generally do not need to log into the FAFSA Partner Portal. Students and parents complete and manage their FAFSA through the appropriate federal student aid systems.

The Partner Portal provides authorized financial aid administrators with tools to:

• View FAFSA transactions associated with a student.

• Review transaction details.

• Compare FAFSA transactions.

• Make certain corrections to information that is available to the financial aid administrator.

• Request FAFSA records.

• Print FAFSA Submission Summaries.

• Support identity-verification activities.

• Review information related to certain eligibility indicators.

The 2027–28 Partner Portal can display multiple FAFSA transactions for a student, allowing authorized financial aid administrators to review the student's FAFSA history and identify the appropriate transaction when assisting with the financial aid process.

Some FAFSA information can be corrected after the FAFSA is submitted.

The Partner Portal provides financial aid administrators with correction functionality for information that is visible to them.

Beginning with the 2027–28 cycle, certain identity-related FAFSA rejects may also be corrected through Electronic Data Exchange (EDE), in addition to the Partner Portal.

What this means for you: If you believe information on your FAFSA is incorrect, do not submit duplicate FAFSAs simply to correct an error. Contact the appropriate financial aid office for guidance on the correct correction process.

The FAFSA Partner Portal includes functionality that allows financial aid administrators to support the federal identity-verification process.

The federal system identifies students who require certain types of identity verification and provides authorized financial aid administrators with tools to submit verification results.

For students: If you receive instructions to complete identity verification, follow those instructions promptly. Your financial aid processing may remain affected until the required verification is completed.

The FAFSA Partner Portal has been updated to make it easier for financial aid administrators to change the school they are working with.

• Search by school name.

• Search by Federal School Code.

• See matching schools as they type.

• Select the appropriate school from filtered results.

• Clear the search to return to the full list.

What this means for students and parents: This is primarily a college-facing system enhancement. You do not need to take any action because of this change

Before you begin

Gather the information you may need to complete the FAFSA, including your 2025 tax information and information needed for the contributors on your FAFSA.

While completing the FAFSA

• Read each question carefully.

• Pay particular attention to the updated tax questions.

• Answer the Puerto Rico/U.S. territory tax question accurately if it applies to you or another contributor.

• Review questions about family circumstances carefully.

• Follow the instructions for reporting assets.

• Watch for system messages or requests for additional information.

Before submitting

Review your FAFSA carefully to make sure the information is accurate and complete.

After submitting

• Monitor your FAFSA and StudentAid.gov account for updates, corrections, or requests for additional information.

• If you are asked to complete identity verification, complete the process as soon as possible.
