    Homecoming Tailgate Experience

    APEX 2025: A 30 Year Tradition

    The 2025 Morehouse College Homecoming Tailgate Experience, taking place Saturday, October 18, 2025, is a vibrant backdrop for alumni, students, and friends to reconnect and make memories at one of the premier school events. Starting hours before kickoff of the game against Lane College, celebrate with your fellow classmates at the best Homecoming Tailgate Experience anywhere in the world.

    When and where is homecoming?

    When: Saturday October 18, 2025

    Where: Morehouse College
    830 Westview Drive, S.W. Atlanta, GA – 30314

    Ticketing Gates are open 10 am – 4:30 pm.

    The Morehouse Tailgate Experience is a one day event so please arrive early and do not be fashionably late! You do not want to miss any of the tailgate activities.

    There will be absolutely no ENTRY OR RE ENTRY AFTER 4:30PM for any guests.
    What time is the football game?

    Time:  Kickoff is at 1:00pm (early this year)

    Location: BT Harvey Stadium

    Teams: Lane College vs. Morehouse

    Are there refunds?

    No refunds or exchanges for purchased tickets. All sales are final.

    The event is rain or shine, no refunds or exchanges. All sales are final.

    • Gate A – Corner of Lee St. / West End Ave 
    • Gate B – Corner of Lee Lane / Westview Ave (near Morehouse parking deck)

    Homecoming Tailgate and Game tickets can ONLY be purchased here .

    Mobile Entry

    Before you leave home, download your mobile ticket from your Freshtix account for a smoother access to Homecoming.    Tickets will likely sell out, so please purchase your tickets early. Cash is NOT accepted.

    A portion of every ticket purchased will be a donation to Morehouse College.

    Where is the box office located?
    Homecoming tickets can ONLY be purchased online.

    We encourage guests to purchase tickets early. There is a high probability the event will SELL OUT.
    Can I buy tickets from other sites?
    Homecoming and Tailgate tickets can ONLY be purchased here.


    Official tickets cannot be purchased from Eventbrite, StubHub or any other broker sites.

    Where is homecoming parking?
    For an additional fee, guests can park in the Morehouse parking deck.

    Overflow Parking will be at the Morehouse School of Medicine parking deck.

    Homecoming Street Closures and Traffic Information

    Homecoming celebrations for Morehouse and Spelman Colleges will require temporary street closures and detours from Tuesday, October 14, through Sunday, October 19. Key impacts include:

    • Street Closures: Major closures begin Friday, October 17, at 8 PM around Lee Street, West End Avenue, Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard, and Atlanta Student Movement Boulevard. Clearly marked detours and event signs with QR codes for additional information will be posted at least 72 hours prior to the event.
    • Parking Restrictions: Secured parking is available at the following locations:
      • Morehouse Parking Deck for $40 (830 Westview Dr., Atlanta, GA 30314) 
      • Morehouse School of Medicine Parking Deck for the daily rate (455 Lee Street Atlanta, GA 30314) 
      • Clark Atlanta University Parking Deck for $20, opening at 9 a.m. (190 Mildred Street SW, Atlanta, GA 30314) 
      • West End Mall Lot for $30 (850 Oak Street SW, Atlanta, GA 30310) 
      • Friendship Baptist Church for $50; purchase parking here.(80 Walnut St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30314; shuttles to transport to BDT Suites Gate; bus drop-off on Westview).

    • Note: All parking sites are debit/credit No event parking is permitted in Spelman College parking lots. 
    • Traffic and Detour Plan: Local traffic will be rerouted in accordance with city-approved plans for the safety and convenience of all parties involved. A detour map will be distributed and posted online. 

    • Rideshare: The rideshare pickup/drop-off point will be located at 833 Atlanta Student Movement Blvd. Atlanta, GA 30310. 
    • Notifications: Nearby residences, businesses, apartments, senior facilities, and stakeholders have been notified to minimize disruption.

    What are ride share options?

    We encourage guests to take Uber or Lyft.

    Pick up / drop off is at the corner of Brown St. / Euharlee St.

    What items are ALLOWED / PROHIBITED?

    Guests and their belongings are subject to search upon entry or re-entry.  You can help keep the lines moving quickly by leaving large bags at home.  

    The following items are ALLOWED:   ALL bags will be searched before entry.

    • Small clutch purses and fanny packs that are 6″ x 9″ or smaller do not need to be clear, but can have no more than one pocket.
    • All other bags larger than 6″ x 9″ must be smaller than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ and clear.
    • Hydration packs are allowed and do not need to be clear, but must be emptied of all liquid and have no more than two pockets in addition to the one holding the water reservoir.
    • Baby Strollers
    • Chairs
    • Binoculars
    • Blankets, Sheets, Towels
    • Cameras (basic point and shoot consumer-grade cameras) without detachable lenses and other accessories (monopods, selfie sticks, tripods, GoPro mounts, and other attachments are not allowed)
    • Personal sized hand sanitizer 
    • Sunscreen in non-aerosol containers is allowed in the size of 3.4 ounces or less
    The following items are PROHIBITED:
    • Aerosol containers, including sunscreen and personal beauty products
    • Weapons or explosives of any kind
    • Any and all professional audio recording equipment
    • Professional cameras and professional recording (photo, video, audio) equipment (NO large professional detachable zoom lenses, stands, monopods, tripods, attachment sticks (selfie sticks) or other commercial equipment.
    • Any and all professional video equipment. No video recording will be allowed
    • Drones or any other remote flying device
    • Hammocks
    • Glass containers of any kind
    • Illegal and Illicit substances of any kind
    • Umbrellas
    • Pets (except service animals)
    • Selfie sticks
    • Skateboards, scooters, bicycles, wagons, carts or any personal motorized vehicles
    • Tents, canopies, or shade structures of any kind
    • Unauthorized/unlicensed vendors are not allowed. No unauthorized solicitation and materials including handbills, flyers, stickers, beach balls, give-aways, samples, etc.
    • Fireworks
    • Large chains or spiked jewelry
    • Bicycles inside campus grounds 
    • Carts of any kind (including Red Wagons)
    What kind of food is available?
    There will be various food trucks available on campus with a variety of menus for our guests. There will be vegan options available with certain food trucks.

    Menu options are subject to availability.

    What is the age policy at homecoming?

    Children under the age of 5 years old are free and do not require a ticket. 

    Is the event rain or shine?

    Yes, the event is completely outdoors and will take place rain or shine. Morehouse hopes for warm, clear and comfortable weather! 

    What should I do in the case of an emergency?

    If you require medical or emergency assistance call Morehouse Police (470) 638-0562 or look for a clearly marked medical tent on site. Prescription medication and/or medical equipment is permitted with valid identification during homecoming

    What do I do if I have a ticketing question?

    Please contact a ticket agent via email at greenlight@freshtix.com or by phone at (678) 701-6114, Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm or Saturday-Sunday,10am-5pm.

     

    Safety and Security Measures
    • All Tailgate Participants MUST have a wristband or Ticket QR code for entry. 
    • Increased Security Presence: Additional Morehouse College Police Department (MCPD) personnel and Atlanta Police Department (APD) officers will be patrolling the grounds throughout the day. There will be over 150 safety officials present, so be assured that you are safeguarded.  
    • Emergency Medical Services (EMS): To enhance our Emergency health & well-being rapid response capabilities, Grady Hospital EMS personnel, ambulances, and first-aid tents will be strategically positioned across the grounds. Locations will be inside and outside of B.T. Harvey Stadium, Lot B Near Wheeler Hall, along Wellborn St., at the rear of the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center, on West End Avenue, and along Westview Drive. 
    • Guest Safety Requirements: To ensure a smooth entry process and maintain safety, we kindly request that all guests adhere to our clear bag policy and size restrictions (see below). Wristbands will be issued and required for entry. 
    • Tip Reporting: Your vigilance helps keep our community safe. Attendees can report concerns by calling our Public Safety Emergency number at 404-215-2666 or by emailing mcpd@morehouse.edu.
    • Enhanced Safety Technology: Metal detectors, cameras, and drones will be used at all entry points for added security.
    • Directional Signage: Prominent signage will mark major entrances, exits, EMS stations, security, and key areas.
