About Dr. NyThea Tolbert
Dr. NyThea C. Tolbert, MPH, is the Director of Public Health Sciences at Morehouse College
Dr. NyThea Campbell Tolbert provides academic and strategic leadership for the Public Health Sciences Program within the STEM Division. With more than 20 years of experience across higher education, public health, and workforce development, her work centers on strengthening academic pathways, advancing equity-driven programming, and preparing students for leadership in the health professions.
Dr. Tolbert’s career spans roles in federally funded program leadership, curriculum design, student success initiatives, and cross-institutional partnerships, including collaborations with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Association of American Medical Colleges, Emory University, and multiple HBCUs. She brings a systems-level approach to public health education, blending data-informed decision-making with mentorship, experiential learning, and community-engaged practice.
In addition to her academic leadership, Dr. Tolbert is the Founder and Principal Strategist of Prototype Leadership Group, a leadership and professional development firm where she equips students and emerging professionals with the confidence, presence, and professional etiquette needed to navigate academic, corporate, and leadership spaces with intention and credibility.
Her work reflects a deep commitment to developing the next generation of leaders through education, personal presence, and purpose-driven preparation.
