About the Professor
Dr. Mona Ray, Ph.D. is Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Economics passionately involved in advancing the Economic program at Morehouse College.
Dr. Mona Ray is a professor in the Department of Economics at Morehouse College, Atlanta. She teaches Environmental Economics and Urban Economics, as major elective courses for juniors and seniors along with the principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics and Business Statistics for the freshmen and sophomores. Her specialization is Environmental Economics. She received her Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Clemson University in 1999. Her M.A. (1987) and B.A. (1984). in Economics is from Kalyani University, India. Her research interests are mainly in the field of sustainability.
Dr. Ray is a member of the Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) Atlanta chapter, American Economic Association (AEA), Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE), Association for the advancement in Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), and the Southern Economic Association (SEA). She is a senior fellow at the UN-SDSN since 2018. She serves as the Associate Editor for the International Journal of Social Economics.
