Meet Mecca Holts-Caldera

PROFILE

A native of Los Angeles, CA, Mrs. Caldera graduated from California Lutheran University (C.L.U.) in 2017 with B.A. in Political Science (Emphasis in Law and Public Policy) and a minor in Business Administration. Her initial career goals included attending law school and practicing criminal law after completing several internships in local government and law enforcement. During her undergraduate coursework, Mrs. Caldera consistently worked in administrative roles for both C.L.U. and Moorpark College. Upon graduating college, she decided to follow her love of student services into various capacities at the Southern California Health Institute, the Institute for American Universities, and the United Education Institute. In these roles, Mrs. Caldera organized international program logistics, oversaw externship placement and completion across several trade programs, created numerous professional development workshops, grew and nurtured employer relationships, and maintained high job placement numbers by placing students at 2x the rate of her predecessors. Mrs. Caldera has been with Morehouse College since November 2021 and has always been drawn to Morehouse’s legacy and commitment to academic excellence and service. When she isn’t working with students, Mrs. Caldera loves to travel and spend time with her family.
