About the Professor
My work focuses on the intersections of novel and theatre in nineteenth British literature. I am particularly concerned with how reality is constructed and its relationship to our affective responses as readers. Another abiding interest is in monstrosity, how we define monsters, the aesthetic ways they are constructed, and the power dynamics involved in defining them.
I am originally from New Jersey and completed my Ph.D. in Nineteenth Century British literature at the University of Rochester. I then worked as a research associate and lecturer at the University of Virginia. I am thrilled to be starting here at Morehouse and look forward to beginning my next chapter!
