About Dr. Jones

Dr. Kimberley Jones serves as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Morehouse College, where she leads the strategic direction and operational excellence of Information Technology Services.

A seasoned professional with more than 20 years of experience in the information technology field, Dr. Jones is a respected leader whose career spans higher education, instructional technology, and administrative leadership across six institutions in the southeastern United States. 

A proud alumna of Mississippi State University, Dr. Jones earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Science in Instructional Technology Education, and a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology Education with a focus on community college leadership. 

Dr. Jones is actively engaged in several professional organizations, including the Associated Colleges of the South (ACS), the Consortium of Liberal Arts Colleges (CLAC-CIOs), and the Microsoft Devices Customer Advisory Board. She also serves as Chair of the Atlanta University Center Consortium CIOs Council and is a mentor with the Next Leaders Fellowship, helping shape the next generation of higher education IT leaders. 

Her outstanding leadership has been recognized nationally—she was named an EdScoop 50 Higher Education IT Executive of the Year. Dr. Jones is a former member of InfraGard and an alumna of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County (Class 31). She has also served on the board of the Alabama Supercomputer Authority and held multiple leadership roles with the Women’s Business Center of North Alabama, including treasurer and board member.
