As chief academic and financial officer f0r the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship, Dean Jones provided the leadership achieve academic and financial goals of the College as part of NSU’s Vision 2020. These accomplishments included AACSB Accreditation and $20 million in philanthropy.
Dr. Jones was also proud to serve as Dean of the School of Business at Florida Memorial University. In both roles, Dr. Jones is responsible for fostering excellence in research and teaching, strengthening the quality of the business school’s academic programs, and enhancing the global reputation of the College. “We must prepare our future leaders to compete, successfully, in highly competitive and rapidly changing global markets.”
In addition to serving as Dean, Dr. Jones twenty-seven (27) year career at NSU included executive associate dean, associate dean for academic affairs, executive director of master's programs, and professor of management. Dr. Jones has also served as director of the M.B.A. programs, faculty coordinator for graduate programs, director of the center for entrepreneurship and recruiter. Before beginning his career in higher education, Preston served in various engineering and management capacities with the Johnson & Johnson family of companies for more than 15 years.
In service to our community Dr. Jones is a board member of Broward 2-1-1, Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society, and Florida Bar UPL committee. Dr. Jones serves the Town of Davie, Florida as a member of the Finance Advisory Committee and Broward County as a member of the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. Dr. Jones is active member of the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce where he served as a member of the Good to Great awards selection committee. He is a proud member of the Zeta Lambda Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.
Dean Jones earned his Doctor of Business Administration and M.B.A. degrees at NSU and received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana.
