Bio
Dr. Emmanuel Fleurantin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Morehouse College. Before joining Morehouse, he held an NSF MPS-Ascend Postdoctoral Fellowship jointly at George Mason University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and was also an Office of Naval Research Postdoctoral Fellow at UNC Chapel Hill. His research is in dynamical systems and computational mathematics, including computer-assisted proofs, invariant manifolds, critical transitions (tipping) in climate and ecological models, and data assimilation.
His research has been published in Notices of the American Mathematical Society, Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, Physica D: Nonlinear Phenomena, and Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems.
He is a 2024–2026 Mathematically Gifted and Black – SIAM Early Career Fellow and delivered the 2024 Rudy Horne Applied Mathematics Lecture at CAARMS. He has mentored many undergraduate research projects, with students presenting at national conferences and co-authoring publications.
