WHY HAVE YOU CHOSEN TO SERVE ON THE MOREHOUSE COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES?

Morehouse College has long served as a proven training ground to educate and guide the next generation of leaders, particularly those who have historically been passed over by America’s predominantly white institutions. No other institution is more impressive when it comes to mentoring leaders of tomorrow. Morehouse is a testament to the nation’s unlimited capacity and ability to achieve bold accomplishments when we provide all our future leaders with the resources and empowerment they need to reach new heights. It is an honor to be a part of a storied institution that, throughout its history, has shown its compassion, resilience, and care for those who are a part of its community and beyond.

WHO FROM THE MOREHOUSE COMMUNITY HAS IMPRESSED OR IMPACTED YOUR LIFE OR WORK?

Morehouse has a long arc of service and commitment to our country that has been exemplified by so many across its ecosystem. Transformative leaders like Dave Thomas and Robert F. Smith have been incredibly powerful advocates and leaders in expanding opportunities for the next generation. Their unwavering commitment to this and other causes continues to push me to do more and has imbued the idea of service into my work.

AS A TRUSTEE, HOW DO YOU HOPE TO IMPACT MOREHOUSE COLLEGE?

I hope to support the amazing and talented students of Morehouse and assist Morehouse as a whole as the College navigates the current and future challenges our world is facing as a strategic advisor. Having served on numerous boards over the years, I hope to bring my various experiences to help inform the institution’s decision-making, and position this leading institution to guide us into the future.
