Official Transcripts Explained
The Importance of Sending Official Transcripts
Morehouse College requires official transcripts to verify academic records. Transcripts confirm:
- Completed coursework
- Final grades
- Graduation status
- Eligibility for admission, placement, financial aid, and scholarships
Only transcripts sent directly from the issuing school or college, with an official seal, authorized signature, or secure electronic certification, are considered official.
In-Progress Official High School Transcript
Current high school students applying to programs at Morehouse College should arrange for an in-progress official high school transcript to be sent. This document:
- Shows completed coursework
- Lists any classes currently in progress
- Must be issued and sent directly by the high school with the required seal, signature, or secure certification
Official Final High School Transcript
After graduation, a final official high school transcript must be submitted. This transcript:
- Includes all completed coursework and final grades
- Confirms graduation
- Must be sent directly from the high school with the school’s seal, authorized signature, or secure certification
Official College Transcript
Students who have completed college coursework should submit an official college transcript to Morehouse College. This transcript:
- Reflects all completed courses, grades, and any degrees earned
- Must be sent directly by the college or university with the institution’s seal, authorized signature, or secure electronic delivery
