VERIZON INNOVATIVE LEARNING (VIL) STEM ACHIEVERS

OVERVIEW

Using Technology to “Go Where No One Has Gone Before. At the Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers program, we introduce STEM Achievers to a myriad of tools used in modern technology research, industry, and innovation. Among these will be block coding, augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR), 3-D modeling, rendering, and printing, first-person view technology employed by unmanned ground and aerial vehicles, and the Metaverse.

ELIGIBILITY

VIL STEM Achiever programs are open only to students from Atlanta metropolitan area schools. Eligible elementary and middle school students from Atlanta metropolitan area middle schools that have an average of over seventy percent (> 70%) free and reduced lunch program participants are encouraged to apply.

• Students must have attended middle school in the Atlanta metropolitan Area school districts during the current academic school year.
• Student participant eligibility is limited to students currently enrolled in an Atlanta metropolitan area middle school or those who currently attend an
  Atlanta metropolitan area elementary school (5th grade/rising 6th grade) and will attend an Atlanta metropolitan area middle school in the next academic year.
• This program is not open to students outside of Atlanta Metropolitan Area school districts including outside the State of Georgia
• All VIL STEM Achiever programs are FREE to all eligible student participants
• For the VIL STEM Achievers Summer Program:
  1. The VIL STEM Achiever summer program is a day camp. No housing is available for student participants.
  2. All student participants in the VIL STEM Achievers summer program MUST present proof of vaccination.
