AVFF FYE PROGRAM
The AVFF FYE is an early career mentorship program that provides one year of high impact professional development where new faculty receive a holistic First Year Experience (FYE) with Legacy Leaders focused on “Realizing Excellence” in teaching, research, service, and community integration. This is accomplished using one-on-one, group training, and peer-based methodologies. New faculty are matched with a Legacy Leader to help with career progression, research productivity, enhance pedagogy, and advising excellence addressing the dynamic needs of the Men of Morehouse.
Additionally, the AVFF FYE offers monthly group training featuring the Registrar’s Office, Frederick Douglass Student Success Center, Maroon Tiger Academic Advising Center, Digital Instruction, and Sponsored Programs, Research, and Undergraduate Student Training (SPRUST) to name a few of the many program offerings focused on a “Welcome to the House Onboarding” dedicated to developing faculty to continue the Morehouse legacy of producing leaders who shape the world.
AVFF CAREER PATHWAYS PROGRAM
The AVFF Career Pathways is a mid-career mentorship program that provides six months of intense professional development preparing faculty for “Realizing Excellence” in the Review, Promotion, and Tenure process (RPT). A select group of Legacy Leaders highly experienced in the RPT process provide professional development and guidance on tenure timelines, promotion criteria, and presentation of materials via Interfolio. The AVFF Career Pathways program includes Fire-Side Chats and Chat-N-Chews with the Legacy Leaders along with workshops and one-on-one training.
With leadership at the forefront, ingrained in the culture, the AVFF Career Pathways program invests in faculty who are at the core of student success.
