Attending Summer Semester and Need Financial Aid?
Summer term is considered the "trailer" or last term of the 2025-2026 academic year. Students must complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA to be considered for summer aid. To qualify for financial aid during the summer term, the following are required:
1. Complete Summer Financial Aid Application: Complete the Summer Financial Aid Application Request. Deadline to submit is JUNE 1ST.
2. Complete FAFSA Application: The 2025-2026-Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to determine eligibility for all federal aid, including Pell Grants and Parent PLUS Loans.
3. Complete all outstanding Financial Aid requirements: Log into MyPortal to review/complete all missing Financial Aid requirements.
Key Information:
- Available Financial Aid Options:
- Pell Grants: Need-based grants for eligible undergraduate students based on FAFSA eligibility. Award amounts are pro-rated based on the number of credit hours enrolled. There is no minimum or maximum enrollment requirement for Summer.
- HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarships: Available for students enrolled in 6 or more credit hours, provided they meet the eligibility criteria set by the state. Please make sure that you maintain the GPA standards for both the HOPE and Zell Miller scholarships.
- Parent Loans: Federal Direct PLUS Loans available to parents of dependent undergraduate students. Parents must complete a separate (Summer only loan period of June 2026 - August 2026) application and credit check.
- Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans: Direct Subsidized Loans and Direct Unsubsidized Loans are federal student loans offered by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) to help eligible students cover the cost of higher education at Morehouse College.
- Summer Installment Plan:
Installment plans are not available for summer semesters.
Eligibility:
Enrollment Requirements:
Students must be enrolled in the appropriate undergraduate level coursework for a minimum of half-time (6 hours) to be eligible for summer aid (Federal loans).
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP):
Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress at the end of the Spring semester.
Your summer aid offer could change if your enrollment status changes. Dropping hours before or after the start of the summer session may result in adjustments to financial aid, including funds already disbursed.
