Welcome to Morehouse — Your Destiny Awaits!
We’re excited to welcome you to our campus, our classes, and our family. Until then, there’s plenty to do. This checklist will help you stay organized and complete all necessary tasks so you’re ready on your first day.
Step-By-Step Admitted Student Checklist
To Do For Now
#1: Access the Morehouse Student Portal.
Find the email you received from enrollmentservices@morehouse.edu. This contains your Morehouse student identification number, or M#. You’ll use your M# to obtain your official Morehouse.edu email address, which will also be your login for your Morehouse College “MyPortal” account.
#2: Access Banner Web.
BannerWeb is an app inside your MyPortal account. Here, you can check your financial aid award status, bills and payment information, and other important details. You should start using BannerWeb ASAP.
#3: Make Your Commitment.
To officially accept your place in the Class of 2027, you’ll need to pay a commitment fee or deposit of $588. While you have until May 1, 2023 to make this payment, you should do it as soon as possible. The first 100 to pay will receive a 20% discount at the Morehouse College Bookstore on-campus or online.
#4: Submit Your FAFSA.
Your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed so we can determine if you qualify for additional grant funding.
#5: Understand College Financing.
Learn more about the cost of college — and about grants, loans, scholarships, and other financial aid opportunities. Although you’re automatically considered for certain scholarships, it’s important to understand all your options.
#6: Take Your Placement Assessment.
To determine which classes are right for you, you’ll take and foreign language assessment. All students regardless of transfer credit will need to take the math assessment. If a student has transfer credit for foreign language you may not need to take the assessment.
#7: Submit Your Mandatory Health Forms.
Health and safety are priorities at Morehouse College. The pre-entrance health record is required before you are allowed to move onto campus housing or enroll in classes.
To Do in February
#9: Attend Admitted Student Day.
This informative event will help you learn more about what to expect as a Man of Morehouse, what the rest of the enrollment onboarding process looks like, and what else you need to do. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions along the way.
To Do in May – June
#10: Access and Pay Your Bill.
Between May 10 and June 30, 2023, you can access and pay your bill through BannerWeb.
#11: Get Academic Advisement.
Weekly between May 10 and June 30, 2023, you’ll also have access to regular advisement sessions. These sessions cover a variety of topics and will connect you with your appropriate Divisional Advisor.
#12: Submit Final Transcripts.
You have until June 30, 2023 to submit final transcripts.
#13: Resolve Your Balance.
To avoid your classes being dropped you must resolve your balance.
#14: Get Your Photo ID.
Your Morehouse identification card says that you are a valued member of our family, and opens up the doors to campus facilities, resources, programs, and events for you. Because you are a new member of the Morehouse family, you need to get your identification card as soon as possible. You must first pay your $588 commitment deposit (see step 4)
To Do in August
#15: Attend New Student Orientation (NSO).
Visit the Admissions Resource Center for more information as it becomes available.
#16: Register for Courses.
Registration will happen at 10:30am and 2:30pm on Registration Tuesday sessions beginning May 16, 2023. Visit the Admission Resource Center for more information as it becomes available.
#17: Attend Your First Day of Class.
The time has come. Welcome, future Man of Morehouse!
