    About Our Study Abroad Program

    • Program Types

      PROGRAM TYPES

      Affiliate Programs (Semester)

Experiences provided by one of our six external providers (Arcadia Abroad, CEA CAPA, CIEE, IFSA, IES Abroad, ISEP) that span the entire fall or spring semester. You must be a sophomore or junior during your semester abroad. Additionally, you must take 12+ credits in alignment with your degree plan to maintain your full-time student status. Payment for fall and spring semester is made through TigerPay and students may apply external financial aid to their bill. The deadline for fall is typically mid-March, while spring deadlines are in early October.

      Affiliate Programs (Summer)

Summer experiences offered through affiliate partners (Arcadia Abroad, CEA CAPA, CIEE, IES Abroad, ISEP, University of Manchester). Programs last anywhere from one to twelve weeks and are credit-optional. Typically open to all classifications, though some individual program restrictions may apply. Fees for summer programs are paid directly to providers, and scholarships cannot be applied. Summer deadlines are typically in February.

      Faculty-Led Programs

Short-term programs led by faculty and staff. Participants travel as part of a group of Morehouse students. These programs may be credit-bearing. Faculty-led trips range from one to four weeks and often occur during school breaks, including winter, J-Mester, spring break, and summer. Scholarships may not be applied to program fee, as all payments are made directly. Deadlines will vary

    • How to Study Abroad: Affiliate Program

      Getting Started

      • If necessary, apply for a passport. Your passport must be valid for 6+ months past your anticipated date of return. Please note, passport processing times can range from 6-13 weeks.
      • Take advantage of the Delta Airlines Passport Assistance Program for a $165 reimbursement of your fees (available to Morehouse students only).
      • Research and compare programs to find what’s right for you. Identify your top two program choices.
      • Schedule a study abroad advising appointment to solidify your program choice. Study abroad advising is required to participate in an affiliate program and home authorizations will not be granted prior to advising.

      Application Process

      • Complete your Study Abroad Course Request Form by cross-referencing available courses at your chosen program abroad with the requirements in your Morehouse degree plan and obtaining signatures from respective department chairs, your academic advisor, and your major chair.
      • Note: students do not need to obtain the signature of the Registrar. Your study abroad application will not be considered if the Study Abroad Course Request Form is incomplete or inaccurate.
      • Complete and submit your application in the Morehouse Study Abroad Portal by OIE deadlines and ensure status shows “Application Submitted”. Be sure also apply separately through your chosen external provider.
      • Note: due dates may be earlier than Morehouse deadline and some partners may collect an application fee.
