Profile
Kevin R. Booker is the vice president for student services and dean of students at Morehouse College. He started his Morehouse career as the director of New Student Orientation and later served as the associate dean of the College and then associate vice president for student life. Under his leadership, several student leaders and organizations have received national awards and honors. Booker describes returning to his beloved alma mater “like going full circle in the field of education,” noting that fifty-one Morehouse Men that he has mentored have are engaged in productive careers in education and are developing today’s youth.
Booker began his career as an educator teaching in both East Orange and Newark, NJ public schools and later moved to Georgia to complete his K-12 education career working in the Clayton County Public School System. During his thirteen-year career in public education, Booker held positions as teacher, dean of discipline, coach of several academic and athletic teams, assistant principal, and principal. He is proud that fourteen of his former K-12 students have graduated from Atlanta University Center institutions, including four from Morehouse, over the past fourteen years.
He is a native of East Orange, NJ and has over twenty-seven years of experience in education. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in real estate & finance from Morehouse College and received his Master of Arts in educational leadership administration & supervision from St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, NJ. Kevin is the proud father of three wonderful children.
