Profile
Dr. José Arnaldo Larrauri-Santiago is Assistant Professor of Spanish in the Department of World Languages and Cultures at Morehouse College. He has been Co-Director of the Morehouse Summer Study Abroad Program in Cádiz, Spain and of the Morehouse Summer Study Abroad Program in San José, Costa Rica. Currently Dr. Larrauri is the Faculty-Leader of the Morehouse Summer Study Abroad Program in Seville, Spain.
Dr. Larrauri earned his Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Spanish from Emory University
(Hispanic Caribbean, Latin American & Peninsular Literature and Culture). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Communication from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, and one Master of Arts in Spanish from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, and another Master in Education, Administration & Supervision from University of Phoenix.
His research interests are the intersection of institutional identity discourses and individual subjectivities; culture and learning by doing as teaching strategies for language proficiency; study abroad Theory and Pragmatic. Dr. Larrauri regularly presents his research papers at conferences of the Congreso Internacional de Literatura y Estudios Hispánicos (CILH); South Atlantic Modern Language Association Conference (SAMLA); Latin American Studies Association Congress (LASA).
