    About the Professor

    Dr. Eddie C. Red is the interim dean of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Division at Morehouse College. He is also an associate professor of Mathematics and computational sciences.

    Dr. Red previously served as chair of the Mathematics and Computational Science Division  and chair of the Physics & Dual-Degree Engineering Department. He has also served as a principal investigator for more than one Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration award, and director of the NuMaSS (Nuclear, Materials, and Space Science) Summer Enrichment Program for K-12 students. His experience in faculty governance as a past member of the Admissions Committee, Faculty Grievance Committee, Faculty Appeals Committee, and Faculty Research Committee.

    An alumnus of Morehouse College (’00), Dr. Red attained his M.S. and Ph.D. from Florida A&M in addition to post-doctoral education at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He is an active scholar who has published in Communications Physics, Physical Review, and the Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, among other venues. Supplementing his professional written work are multiple conference presentations and leadership of the Research Experience with Diversification Laboratory, designed to providing student training and research experiences.
