Morehouse College has a strong commitment to maintaining a work and academic environment free from sexual and gender-based harassment, including sexual misconduct, for all community members, including faculty, staff, and students. The College has enacted this Sexual Misconduct Policy to reflect and maintain its institutional values and community expectations, provide fair and equitable procedures for determining when this Policy has been violated, and provide recourse for individuals and the community violations of this Policy.
As a recipient of federal funds, Morehouse College is required to comply with Title IX of the Higher Education Amendments of 1972, 20 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. (“Title IX”), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs or activities, admission, and employment. Inquiries concerning the application of Title IX may be referred to Morehouse College’s Title IX Coordinator or the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights.
