    The MWELP is a two-semester program for students to develop leadership, career, financial, and mental health skills.

    THE MAURICE WASHINGTON EMERGING LEADERS PROGRAM SPONSORED BY JP MORGAN CHASE

    The Maurice Washington Emerging Leaders Program (MWELP) is a two-semester program designed for first-year, second-year, and transfer students to develop effective leadership, career readiness, financial literacy, and mental health coping skills. This program focuses on preparing students to succeed and contribute to the Morehouse College community as student leaders by creating a foundational framework in their first two years at the college.

    This year-long program aims to engage students in college orientation and identify pathways to leadership while allowing students to develop comprehensive career development plans.

    HOW TO COMPLETE THE MWELP

    Each MWELP track has a unique experience curated for each classification. Every participant will complete the following:

    • 4 elective Leadership Education and Development LEAD leadership workshops
    • JP Morgan Chase Your Financial Journey Workshops
    • Career Development & Engagement Prep
      • Career Action Plan
      • FOCUS 2 Assessment
      • Resume Review
      • Mock Interview
    • Spring Capstone: Scholar Spotlight
    • Community Service Project
