Compliance
Living the values that have defined Morehouse since 1867.
Compliance at Morehouse is about more than following rules — it is about living the values that have defined the College since 1867. The compliance function fosters a culture of integrity and accountability across the institution, partnering with offices throughout campus to ensure that Morehouse meets its obligations under the web of federal, state, and accreditation requirements that govern higher education, and that it does so in a manner consistent with the College’s own ethical commitments.
The program rests on a clear framework. The Morehouse Compliance Charter defines the program’s authority and scope; the Compliance Map identifies the laws and regulations that apply to the College and the offices responsible for each; and the Compliance Committee convenes leaders to monitor risk and drive accountability. Together these elements move compliance from a reactive exercise into a proactive, institution-wide discipline.
Central to compliance is the freedom to speak up. Morehouse maintains EthicsPoint, a confidential reporting hotline available to anyone who wishes to raise a concern about suspected misconduct, fraud, or a violation of law or policy. Reports may be made anonymously, and the College prohibits retaliation against anyone who reports a concern in good faith.
Our compliance work touches many specific areas, including Title IX and the prevention of sexual and interpersonal misconduct; nondiscrimination and equal opportunity; the protection of minors who participate in College programs; whistleblower protection; anti-hazing; conflicts of interest; and data privacy.
This page is intended to serve as a resource to enhance understanding and compliance with the attorney-client privilege at Morehouse College. It is not a substitute for professional legal advice.
