About David Cherry
David Cherry is a computer science educator and researcher dedicated to bridging the gap between technology and community impact through culturally responsive, data driven innovation.
David Cherry is a 2014 alumnus of Morehouse College, where he earned his B.S. in Computer Science. He later completed his M.S. in Computer Science at Clemson University, specializing in Human Computer Interaction. Currently serving as a full-time professor, David is passionate about making computer science education more accessible and impactful especially for underrepresented communities.
His work is rooted in applying data-driven insights to real-world problems through data science, often leading student focused research and community projects under the Culturally Relevant Computing Lab. With a strong foundation in machine learning, analytics, and human-centered design, David strives to equip the next generation of technologists with both the technical skills and the cultural awareness needed to innovate responsibly.
