About Dr. H. Justin Ballenger
Dr. H. Justin Ballenger is the Chair of the Morehouse Education Department and an Assistant Professor of STEM Education.
Dr. H. Justin Ballenger serves as the Chair of the Education Department and Assistant Professor of STEM Education at Morehouse College. His current research and professional practice are centered on the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence in K-12 and teacher education, specifically focused on broadening participation for underrepresented groups.
Dr. Ballenger leads strategic initiatives that foster collaboration in AI integration and STEM education among Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). As a Research Fellow with the Morehouse Black Men's Research Institute (BMRI) and Co-PI for the AUC Computer Science Ecosystem, he works at the intersection of computational literacy and educational equity. His leadership experience includes serving as the Research Lead for the National Data Science Alliance (NDSA) and contributing to faculty advisory teams for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
Through his work, Dr. Ballenger is committed to developing innovative pedagogical frameworks that empower future educators to navigate and lead in an AI-driven educational landscape
