Meet Dr. Onifade

Dr. Emmanuel O. Onifade is a full professor of accounting at Morehouse College.

Dr. Onifade earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Central State University, Ohio in 1976, a Master of Business Administration with concentration in accounting from the University of Cincinnati in 1977, and a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1993. He worked at Wilberforce University from 1977 until 1980, at Hampton Institute (University) from 1980 until 1985, where he chaired the Accounting and Finance Department, and South Carolina State College (University) from 1985 until 1994, where he chaired the Accounting Department. Dr. Onifade joined the faculty of Morehouse College in 1994. He served as the program director of accounting at Morehouse for 29 years.

Dr. Onifade has four children, who are all doctors, and says that he has an adopted middle name of “Don”t Worry, Be Happy,” a phrase popularized by one of his favorite musicians. He has published more than 25 peer-reviewed journal articles in both domestic and international journals in the areas of behavioral accounting, finance, educational assessment, and pedagogy.
