Freshman Send-Off-Hampton-Roads-2024

Each summer, we proudly continue a cherished Morehouse tradition — Alumni Send-Off Receptions — to welcome our newest Men of Morehouse and their families into the brotherhood.

Hosted by alumni and parents across the country, these gatherings offer incoming and transfer students a warm and personal introduction to the Morehouse community before they even step foot on campus.

Here’s what makes our Alumni Send-Offs so special:

Connect Locally: Students and families meet Morehouse alumni, College representatives, and fellow first-year and transfer students in an intimate, supportive setting.
Ask Questions, Share Stories: Students and parents get the chance to learn from those who’ve walked the path before — from alumni who’ve graduated to current students and recent grads.
Begin the Brotherhood: These events mark the first official step in each student’s journey to becoming a Man of Morehouse.
Build Community: Students start forming bonds that will carry them through their time at Morehouse and beyond.
Support for Families: Parents meet fellow parents and gain insight into the network of support surrounding their sons.

These receptions aren’t just a celebration of what’s ahead — they’re a powerful reminder that when you join Morehouse, you gain a family for life.
