Title III
Title III
MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of the Title III program is to impact Morehouse College through “financial assistance to establish or strengthen the physical plants, financial management, academic resources, and endowments.” In so doing, the Title III program carries out the overall mission of the institution and provides an evaluative narration of progress and success as it serves as a liaison between the College and U.S. Department of Education.
Activities
Activity 1: Faculty Research, Instructional Innovation, and Praxis. This activity identifies factors affecting student learning, persistence, and academic performance of students; develops pedagogical and praxis models to support teaching and learning; develops a holistic and integrative cultural model for proactive identification and response to factors affecting student success and persistence.
Activity 2: Enhancing and Expanding Educator Preparation. This activity expands course options, experiential activities, and opportunities to bridge the gap between theory and practice; and tracks the impact and effectiveness of the Teacher Education Program.
Activity 3: Transforming the College Campus Using Smart Technologies. This activity establishes the foundation for a smart campus to boost the experience, education, efficiencies, and safety to retain the best students and employees; and becomes a leader in digital transformation.
Activity 4: Enhancing Instructional Spaces and Facilities. This activity ensures that learning spaces are safe, functional, aesthetically comfortable, and configured to integrate new innovations in technology.
Activity 5: Realizing Excellence in Business Operation Improvements and Strategic Initiatives. This activity develops and implements new practices and procedures to improve efficiency in business processes, predictive analytics, data infrastructure, and project-based initiatives focused on operational excellence.
Activity 6: Realizing Excellence through Talent Boost. This activity executes a professional learning and development program that promotes advancement and retention of a 21st Century Workforce.
Activity 7: Realizing Excellence in STEM Leadership. This activity improves academic instruction and academic support services provided to students to increase student retention and ultimately increase student-generated revenues. By improving laboratory training and research opportunities, the College helps to ensure the representation of diverse interests and innovative thinking in critical positions of decision-making and implementation in the far-reaching field of STEM.
Activity 8: Capital Renewal. This activity renovates, and improve classrooms, laboratories, and other instructional facilities, as well as optimize technological advances for these learning environments. During the next five years the focus will continue to reflect recent past efforts with an acute emphasis on ensuring that faculty and students have the physical and technological infrastructure and environment conducive to teaching and learning in the current and future changing academic landscape.
