    The Business and Economics Division prepares students to lead global commerce, multinational corporations and organizations, and launch next-generation entrepreneurial endeavors. The mission of the Division of Business and Economics is to develop intellectual capacity and skills, advance knowledge, and foster leadership abilities requisite for excellence in business practice, graduate studies, and beyond.

      The mission of the Division of Business and Economics is to develop intellectual capacity and skills, advance knowledge, and foster leadership abilities requisite for excellence in business practice, graduate studies, and beyond. Students who graduate from the Division of Business and Economics find careers in public and private sectors, such as Fortune 500 Corporations, as entrepreneurs, in government agencies, and in nonprofit organizations. In addition, they often attend prestigious graduate schools like the University of Chicago, Harvard Law School, and Columbia University. The Division of Business and Economics has AACSB accreditation.

      Promote entrepreneurial, business, and economic solutions to social problems that advance Black Communities and the African Diaspora.


      Our Goals

      Goals: #1. Faculty/Students recognized as global leaders at the intersection of social justice and entrepreneurship.

      Goal #2: Become the top HBCU for business and enter the top 200 nationally in business.

      Vision 2030: Strategic Priorities
      1. Produce globally-minded career-ready leaders.
      2. Increase academic rankings and reputation of the division.
      3. Build a national presence in entrepreneurship.

      Departments and Programs

      Our division includes two departments: Business Administration and Economics

      Students who graduate from the Division of Business and Economics find careers in public and private sectors, such as Fortune 500 Corporations, as entrepreneurs, in government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. In addition, they often attend prestigious graduate schools like the University of Chicago, Harvard Law School, and Columbia University. The Division of Business and Economics has AACSB accreditation. 

    • Majors

      Majors

      Business Administration majors at Morehouse prepare men to be leaders who understand the language of global commerce, organizational operations, return on investment, and human capital management.

      Concentrations include Accounting, finance, management, and marketing. 

      Morehouse Online is for students who are transferring from another school or finishing a degree.  We offer our online Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree with a concentration in management to students who hold previous college credits.

      The economics program is designed to improve the ability of students to think critically and write and speak effectively regarding economic issues.

      Business and Economics Advisory Board

      The mission of the Division of Business and Economics Advisory Board is to advise the Division regarding its progress and interactions with individuals, corporations, and agencies external to Morehouse and to develop, plan and facilitate specific targeted activities that advance the Division’s goals through outreach to them.

    Meet the Dean

    Dr. SherRhonda Gibbs is a noted academic leader who has also served as dean of the Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado, interim director of the School of Management, and interim associate dean of analytics & and accreditation at the University of Southern Mississippi. She also has experience as a project lead/senior analyst programmer, software engineer, and consultant at the Mayo Clinic, IBM, and GCNF Ventures.
