When you step onto the campus of Morehouse College — the nation’s only comprehensive, private liberal arts college for men — you immediately are aware of both your history and your destiny.
Morehouse’s history is so impressive, so tangible, that you can’t help but be filled with a keen sense of awe and respect for the men who have come to this place before you and gone on to make outstanding contributions to society. You know their names: Nobel Peace Prize laureate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., filmmaker Shelton “Spike” Lee, Olympic Gold Medalist Edwin Moses, and countless other Morehouse Men among your family members, friends and mentors who are leaders in their churches, communities and professions.
Now, you are contemplating walking in their footsteps. You are attracted to Morehouse, in part, because you perceive within yourself the potential for the greatness you have come to admire in men such as these. You are at a crossroads in life’s journey, where history and the future intersect.
Your first step is to define yourself. Your destiny is to redefine the world.
Stamps Leadership Scholarships
Morehouse College is honored to offer the Stamps Leadership Scholarships to exceptional students. Funded by the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation, Inc., the Stamps Leadership Scholars Program at Morehouse College will benefit exemplary students with at least a 3.7 grade-point-average. The first group of six students will be awarded during the 2013-2014 academic school year. Two students from each academic division will be selected annually to receive full-ride scholarships valued at approximately $200,000 each. The program will grow by about six new scholarships annually. Students in the program also will have access to an enrichment fund of $10,000 each to support study abroad trips, undergraduate research trips, unpaid internships and academic or co-curricular conferences.
Admission Process for the Stamps Scholarship
The Morehouse College Stamps Scholarship is a stand-alone merit-based scholarship, awarded to the top six candidates from our College’s pool of applicants. The Stamps Scholarship, our most prestigious, supersedes any other institutional award. To be considered for the Stamps Scholarship, students must apply to Morehouse College by February 1 of their senior year. The Office of Admissions notifies recommended finalists the first week of February. SFCF contacts recommended finalists by February 15 to request supplementary materials and to schedule an interview with SFCF. Finalists that are selected for the Morehouse College Stamps Scholarship will receive official notification by the Office of Admissions in the form of a scholarship offer letter. Recipients must indicate their acceptance of the offer and return the offer letter indicating such by the deadline stated on the letter. More information is available at the Stamps Scholars webpage.
