When students choose Morehouse College, they’re stepping into a living legacy of leadership, brotherhood, and purpose. From the moment you arrive in the heart of Atlanta, you’ll feel it: Morehouse men are builders, thinkers, artists, advocates, and change-makers. One of the most powerful ways that legacy comes alive is through our student organizations.
At Morehouse, involvement is foundational. Our signature student organizations are where leadership is practiced, voices are sharpened, and lifelong bonds are formed. Whether you’re passionate about governance, culture, service, creativity, or social justice, there’s a space here where your interests align with impact.
Below, we invite you to explore some of the student organizations that define the Morehouse experience, and help shape the leaders of tomorrow.
The Student Government Association sits at the center of campus leadership. More than a governing body, SGA is a training ground for ethical leadership, policy development, and advocacy. Students elected to SGA represent the interests of the student body, collaborate with faculty and administrators, and address issues ranging from campus life to academic policy.
Through SGA, Morehouse men learn how to:
Lead with accountability and transparency
Navigate complex institutional systems
Speak powerfully on behalf of others
For students considering careers in law, politics, business, or nonprofit leadership, SGA offers hands-on experience that translates directly beyond the Gates.
Participation in the Glee Club goes far beyond singing. Students gain:
Performance and discipline skills
Cultural and historical grounding
Global exposure through tours and collaborations
For many, the Glee Club becomes a brotherhood within the Brotherhood—one rooted in harmony, heritage, and high standards.
Intellectual Excellence: Debate, Scholarship & Thought Leadership
The Morehouse College Debate Team is a powerhouse of critical thinking and rhetorical excellence. Known for its success on national and international stages, the team trains students to analyze complex issues, construct persuasive arguments, and think strategically under pressure.
Debate team members sharpen skills that are essential for leadership in any field:
Research and analytical reasoning
Public speaking and persuasion
Confidence in high-stakes environments
From public policy to philosophy, the Debate Team empowers students to use their voices as instruments of change.
Service is not optional at Morehouse; it’s expected. Many students engage through service-focused organizations like The Bonner Office Of Community Service, that partner with local Atlanta communities, national nonprofits, and global initiatives. These groups reflect the College’s mission to develop men who are committed to service, justice, and the common good.
Through service organizations, students:
Tutor and mentor youth
Address food insecurity and health disparities
Engage in voter education and civic outreach
These experiences ground academic learning in real-world impact and remind students that leadership is most powerful when it serves others.
Morehouse student life is enriched by organizations that celebrate culture, identity, and shared interests. From groups focused on African and African American heritage to organizations centered on business, STEM, media, or wellness, these spaces allow students to explore who they are and who they are becoming.
These organizations foster:
Belonging and community
Cultural pride and awareness
Peer mentorship and collaboration
They also serve as incubators for student-led initiatives, events, and conversations that shape campus culture.
Morehouse is home to chapters of the historically Black Greek-letter organizations that make up the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). These fraternities are deeply rooted in service, scholarship, and social responsibility. Membership connects students to a global network of leaders and professionals while reinforcing values of discipline and community uplift.
Greek life at Morehouse emphasizes:
Academic excellence
Service to the Black community
Ethical leadership and accountability
For many students, these organizations become lifelong sources of mentorship and brotherhood.
At Campus Alliance for Student Activities (commonly called CASA), student life becomes community life. CASA is the central student-led body that partners with clubs, campus offices, and the Atlanta University Center consortium (AUC) to plan and support co-curricular activities that make Morehouse’s campus dynamic and inclusive.
Unlike individual interest clubs, CASA’s mission is to design and coordinate programming that touches the entire student body, fosters connection, and builds campus culture. CASA plays a key role in organizing many of Morehouse’s most memorable annual events and awareness initiatives.
CASA is a cornerstone of campus engagement, helping create meaningful opportunities for students to connect, reflect, and celebrate throughout the year. Through collaboration with registered student organizations (RSOs), other campus partners, and AUC institutions, CASA facilitates events that highlight Morehouse’s values of brotherhood, awareness, and leadership.
Some signature events CASA supports include
Homecoming — an annual celebration of alumni, tradition, and campus spirit
Spring Fest — a vibrant springtime showcase of music, life, and community
Awareness Weeks — themed weeks focused on topics like Diversity, Disability, Mental Health, and Risk Reduction (e.g., Alcohol & Drug Awareness Week, Depression Awareness Week)
These co-curricular programs help ensure that student life at Morehouse is holistic, reflective, and responsive to the evolving interests and needs of the student body.
CASA is where planning meets participation. It helps bring ideas to life, giving students a platform to develop skills in:
Event planning and project management
Cross-organizational collaboration
Communication and outreach
Community building and inclusivity
By helping steward major campus experiences, CASA fosters a sense of ownership, pride, and belonging among Morehouse men — reinforcing that leadership happens not just in classrooms and boardrooms, but in the shared moments that define student life.
Student organizations at Morehouse are extensions of the classroom and reflections of the College’s mission. Through involvement, students learn to:
