Services

TUTORING

The Frederick Douglass Academic Success Center provides tutoring, supplemental instruction, and other related services to students. These services include large and small group sessions, review sessions, and walk-in assistance. Our services help students attain a deeper understanding of course material and provide students with study skills and strategies they can apply in their course work.

We provide tutoring by trained peer tutors for a variety of courses. We designed our sessions to assist students with attaining a deeper understanding of course materials.

You must schedule an appointment for a remote session conducted via Microsoft Teams. Teams is available on mobile and desktop devices. To schedule peer tutoring, log into your Morehouse My Portal page and make an appointment via Starfish.

The FDASC tutor team is here to assist you and asks for your patience when making your peer tutoring request. Please allow 24-hours to process your appointment request. Due to student demand and tutor availability, immediate assistance may not be available. Additionally, we schedule tutoring appointments in the order that they are received.

SUBJECTS AVAILABLE ON BRAINFUSE

The center also offers access to on-demand online tutoring via our partnership with Brainfuse. The service provides differentiated learning solutions for users of diverse needs and backgrounds. Students communicate with live tutors and can use interactive whiteboards to chat, write, draw, copy/paste text or images, and graph homework problems. Brainfuse is available to all students from any computer with an internet connection and is enabled and added to all Blackboard courses under the tools menu. The center can provide training upon request.
