Education

Dr. Jaime Chávez earned his Ph.D. in romance languages and Master of Arts in Spanish (literature) from the University of Georgia, and a Bachelor of Arts from Sewanee: The University of the South. He has presented papers at The National Association for African American Studies and Affiliates; the Languages, Literatures, and Cultures Conference at the University of Kentucky; the Annual Carolina Conference for Romance Studies at the University of North Carolina; El Coloquio Internacional de Literatura Mexicana e Hispanoamericana at the University of Sonora, and The Southwest Council of Latin American Studies at the Autonomous University of Campeche.

Dr. Chávez’s research interests include Latin American narrative, U.S. Hispanic Studies, and film.
