"Fall classes resume Wednesday at Morehouse College. The college's interim president, Harold Martin Jr., talks about his vision for the upcoming school year and the search for the college’s next permanent president."

Hello Men of Morehouse.

My name is Harold Martin Jr., and I am the Interim President of Morehouse College, my alma mater.
I wanted to reach out to you before you arrived on campus to tell you how honored I am to serve you. I have recorded a special video message to help prepare you for the new school year.
Nineteen years ago, I began my journey here.  My roommate, Abran, and I came down from Kernersville, NC. I was so excited that I did not appreciate how nervous I was until my parents hit the road to head home. I am eternally grateful, though, that my parents entrusted Morehouse College with my education and development. My life is better for it. I gained membership into a unique brotherhood of intellectual, creative, hard-working, and successful men. I had fun, learned, struggled, and grew into the man that I am today.
As you make your way back to Morehouse College, be safe on the road and come prepared to make this year a successful one. Cherish your time here and take advantage of every opportunity that interests you.
My door is open to you, and I hope to see you on campus soon.
Welcome back!

Harold L. Martin Jr.
Interim President of Morehouse College
