Welcome to the website of the Ethics and Compliance Program at Morehouse College (the “College”). The mission of the program is two-fold: to prevent and detect violations of law, regulations and College policies, and to promote an ethical culture within the College.
This website provides information to guide you and answer your ethics and compliance questions as we endeavor to keep the College in compliance with all policies, procedures, laws, rules and regulations. Our Ethics and Compliance program is dynamic and we regularly review and enhance our program to meet our evolving compliance needs.
It is the College’s expectation that faculty, staff and students will comply with our Code of Conduct (the “Code”), and the policies, procedures, laws, and regulations established in support of our Code. We know that the implementation of such a program cannot guarantee that improper conduct will be entirely eliminated. However, whenever we become aware of violations of law or College policy or procedures, we will investigate the matter and, when appropriate, take disciplinary action and implement corrective measures to prevent future violations. Our goal is to fulfill stakeholder expectations and support excellence by creating an ethics and compliance framework that is:
- Collaborative: working with all College constituencies to examine processes and address compliance issues
- Proactive: advocating ethics and compliance awareness at all levels of the College
- Action-oriented: taking action through communication, education, training, assessment, monitoring, and reporting
In addition, our Ethics and Compliance program is a reflection of our organizational culture that encourages a commitment to shared values which are in compliance with the law. It is our intent and desire to fulfill our academic mission consistent with the College’s legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities.
We welcome your comments and encourage you to communicate with us if you have questions about ethics and compliance at the College or questions about any information contained on our website, or if you observe any irregularities or misconduct. We also encourage your ideas and suggestions for improving our program and making it truly responsive to our college community.
