This core provides facilities and resources that are shared by the faculty and that will enhance the efforts of the College to conduct research on health disparities. This project will fund the development of The Survey and Virtual Research Center, which will be utilized under the Shared Research Facilities and Resources Enhancement Core. This Center will have three components: Telecommunications, eLibrary, and Data Research and Management Center.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

• To develop a Survey and Virtual Research Center
• To provide access to the myriad of conferences on health disparities and thus provide ready access to the leading researchers in the field.
• Provide opportunities for interested faculty to contribute to discussions on important issues within the field
• Provide opportunities to form research collaborations focused on health disparities and their solutions.
• To develop an eLibrary of relevant health disparities documents
• To develop an in-house capacity for conducting research requiring primary data collection and analysis
• To develop infrastructure to utilize large date sets in research efforts
