Howard Hughes Medical Institute Program

All HHMI Scholars

Program Description
The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) program is a scientific research based initiative. The goal is to increase educational opportunities for academically talented students through scientific discovery and STEM field research mentorships with Morehouse faculty in the Division of Science and Mathematics. The program focus will involve a research intensive program of study for students majoring in the sciences (biology, chemistry, computer science, physics, psychology, mathematics, and engineering) which will integrate classroom and laboratory research at Morehouse during the summer and throughout the academic year. All students are expected to participate in the Frederick E. Mapp Symposium research forum. A recruitment process of qualified students will determine the candidates who will participate in this expanded research program.
